#  Professor Capasso named as a 2023 Citation Laureate

 On September 19, 2023, Clarivate named 23 researchers, including Professor Capasso, as [Citation Laureates](https://clarivate.com/news/clarivate-unveils-citation-laureates-2023-annual-list-of-researchers-of-nobel-class/). These researchers have been identified as achieving Nobel-worthy research and Clarivate has successfully identified 71 Nobel Laureates prior to their Stockholm trip.

 The citation reads: "*For pioneering research on photonics, plasmonics, and metasurfaces, as well as contributions to the invention of and improvements on the quantum cascade laser"*.

 According to [Google Scholar](https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=CmpEzW8AAAAJ&hl=en) in September 2023, Professor Capasso has in excess of 115 000 citations and a h-index of 159.
